Athletes trying out for elite teams DO require team placement participation. A minimum of a strong roll, handstand, cartwheel, and back walkover are required to be considered for elite level placements. These teams will practice 4-5 hours per week over 2 days (extra during competition season). Tumbling class will be included in their weekly practices. They will learn a full competition routine and travel to events 6-8 times per season. Most events will be low-moderate travel but a few will be a larger travel commitment. These teams will vie for bids to a large and prestigious national championship event with full travel requirements at the end of the season.

Athletes trying out for elite partial season DO require team placement participation. A minimum of a back handspring series and tuck required (MAY consider an athlete with lower tumbling skills if he or she can base, backspot, fly, and jump at a strong level 3.) Partial season athletes will learn choreography during August, then practice twice a week through October. If an athlete participates IHSA (only IHSA competing athletes must follow this guideline) school cheerleading, they will only be required to take a tumbling class at Ultimate during the IHSA cheer season (late October through early February), then return to twice a week practice after IHSA State. They will learn a full competition routine and travel to events 4-5 times during late February-May. Most events will be low-moderate travel but a few will be longer travel commitment. These teams will vie for bids to a large and prestigious national championship event with full travel requirements at the end of the season.
